Upgrading a major shopping experience through green design

SURREY QUAYS

Surrey Quays is one of the largest shopping complexes in the east of London, and includes 50 major high street retailers.

This project consisted of extending and refurbishing the existing retail shopping centre shop fronts, car park and food court.
A new glass lift was added, as well as roof-mounted solar cells, and landscaping, achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating.
This 61-week program took place while the shopping centre remained fully operational.
The project value was about £21 million.
