NEW TUBBATAHA RANGER STATION
In response to the need to upgrade Tubbataha Reef's old ranger station, the Philippine Government provided a P40-million grant in 2013 to build a new one.
The new ranger station has three main structures: a research building, a command centre, and a transport structure.
Tubbataha Reef is a protected area of the Philippines, located in the middle of the Sulu Sea. In December 1993, UNESCO declared the Tubbataha Reef National Park a world heritage site. In 2008, the reef was nominated as one of the ‘New 7 Wonders of Nature’. Rider Levett Bucknall Philippines Inc. provided project and construction management and quantity surveying services.
